Terms and Conditions
The terms for using Grant Assist SA: what the site is, how you may use our content, what you send us, and which law applies. No accounts, no payments, no products.
Last updated August 23, 2026
These terms apply to your use of the Grant Assist SA website. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
They work together with our disclaimer, which covers what we do and do not take responsibility for, and our privacy policy, which covers personal information.
What this website is
Grant Assist SA is an independent information website about South African social grants. We publish explainers and guides, and we point readers to the official government services.
We are not SASSA, not the Department of Social Development, and not connected to any government body. We cannot see, change or decide anything about your application.
What we do not do here
There are no user accounts on this website. There is nothing to register for, nothing to log into, and nothing to buy. We do not sell products or services, we do not process applications, and we never charge for the information published here.
If a website asks you to pay Grant Assist SA for anything, it is not us.
Using our content
You may read our articles, share them, quote a short extract with credit, and link to any page here. You do not need to ask.
You may not republish an article in full, present our work as your own, or use our content commercially, without our written permission. Automated scraping or bulk copying of the site is not permitted.
Who owns what
The articles, guides, design and code on this website belong to Grant Assist SA or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright.
Names, logos and trade marks belonging to other organisations, including SASSA and government departments, belong to those organisations. We refer to them to describe the services they run. That reference is not a claim of ownership, and it does not imply any endorsement or association.
How you may use the site
Use it lawfully and reasonably. Please do not:
- attempt to gain access to any part of the site, its server or its database that is not public
- interfere with the site’s operation or security, or attempt to introduce malicious code
- use automated tools to harvest content or overload the site
- impersonate Grant Assist SA, or use our name to suggest we endorse something
- use our contact form to send unlawful, abusive or misleading material
What you send us
If you send us a message, keep it to what we need. Do not send an ID number, banking details or other personal information. Our contact form refuses messages containing long strings of digits for that reason.
If you report an error, we may act on it and correct the article. We will not publish your message, your name or your email address, and we will not identify you as the source of a correction, unless you have asked us to.
Where you send us a suggestion, we may use it without owing you payment or credit. We mention this so the position is clear, not because we expect it to come up.
Links to other websites
We link to official government services and other websites so you can reach the source. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their availability. A link is not an endorsement, and once you follow one, that site’s own terms apply.
Changes to the site
We may change, move or remove pages, and we may stop publishing at any time. We do not promise that any particular article will stay available.
Liability
The information here is general information, not advice, and you use it at your own risk. Our disclaimer sets out the position in full and forms part of these terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what personal information we collect and what we do with it. We run no advertising, analytics or visitor tracking on this website.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If part of these terms does not hold
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies to your use of the site.
